The app needs an ELM compatible Bluetooth Low Energy (for iPhone4s and later) or Wi-Fi adapter to work.

Pros and cons of Engine Link - OBD II diagnosis app for iPhone and iPad

Engine Link - OBD II diagnosis app good for

Works fine on my Honda Pilot with Bluetooth LE adapter. Recommended
Get an obd adapter from eBay. Connected to my Car right away. Cool interface, tons of features. Like the fire theme and metal theme. Fast fresh rate. It does check trouble code, shows current code, pending code, even history code, clear code, super easy to use. Created transmission temp gauge, battery gauges so I can monitor them real time. So much you can do. Invaluable app!
Purchased this app specifically because it had the correct pids for my 2007 mercury mariner (ford escape). The trans temp works as well as most the other preconfigured pids. Would like to see the main hud changed to allow for some customization. Fuel level readout in the hud is flaky, but works in the custom area.
I bought the app for my ELM327 WiFi adapter because it seemed very resonable priced compared to the competitor apps and I havent regret it so far. Most functions are working as they should but some things could still be improved. Firstly I dont really like the design, it looks somewhat "cheap" and done carelessly. Secondly, as I live in Germany it would be great if the developers could implement fuel consumption in L/100km as this is the typical format here, rather than km/L. Thirdly, fuel tank level doesnt seem to work with my car (SLK 230 facelift version) and is always showing 7%. Other than that, I really like the app and hope the developers will keep on working on it and might maybe even implement some of my proposals. :)
Well, works right from the beginning. Nice, to have several Informationen in one screen- even better- a few screens you can design yourself. And there is the room for improvment. When metric selected - Why cant I get Temperatures in Celsius in that screens or km/h instead of miles? Havent had a trouble Code to reset- sofar 4Stars.
This app is great! Has emission test gauge that will tell you of your car will pass Etest. Also very easy to view and clear engine codes!

Some bad moments

There are much better options! I wish I could get my money back on this one. The user interface is terrible and it lacks customization that some other similar apps offer. If it was free I would still say do not waste your time!
It took quite a long time to finally connect with my OBD device and then did absolutely nothing. It reported a trouble code, but apparently has no capacity to tell you what it means and attempting to clear it does not work. None of the other features work at all - no engine data, no driving data - nothing. What did I pay for? An app with a cartoonish interface that doesnt do anything? At very least a piece of junk app like this should be free. It isnt. Yet another app to delete. DO NOT BUY.
Total waste of money. Thought it might be a little better than dash command. Boy was I wrong. Junk. Dont waste your money on this app.
Just did the update now its telling me the device isnt powered up meaning the LELink Bluetooth obd2 adapter
Worst OBD app EVER!!! Apple has deleted ALL my reviews. Read some of the reviews..Im not the only one! You have to wonder about an app thats so bad that apple is trying to cover it up.. Its not like I was rude in any review attempt and called them crapple. Steve Jobs would allow any review Ive typed.. Simply put: This is THE WORST APP OUT OF THE HISTORY OF APPS PERIOD. It freezes, often unresponsive, lacks MANY common functions every other app has, its the ugliest and least user friendly interface ever designed, and its incompetence is being covered up by AppleAJ. Im screenshotting every one of these before sending and building a collection to post online to give peoples chance to have an uncorrupted opinion before getting scammed. ODB Facile is free and outperforms ENGINE STINK by a million miles. Waste your money if you dont believe me, its your right. And is also my right to call it ENGINE STINK
Bought the Kiwi3 OBD II Bluetooth plugin. And this app. And tried several times to connect and it wont. Doesnt work for me. How do I get a refund? I purchased the DashCommand app and it works great. This one is junk.
